Veterans and out of uniform active duty can now render the military salute for the Flag of The United States. These changes actually date back to 2008 and 2009, but I was never aware of them until my son, Alek, mentioned it while my mother and I were visiting him at West Point last month. I finally remembered to look it up today and found:

Another - not new change but one some veteran may not know about it. If you served in S. Korea you may be eligible for the KDS medal. http://www.dmzwar.com/koreamedalcoldwarcert.html

Yeah that and 4.00 will get you a latte at Starbucks (except at Sea-Tac - where they want more).
