Whether you love him or hate him, he was the ultimate football coach/gm/owner.

Al Davis can take great credit for the success of the AFL, the merger into the NFL, and the success of the NFL in American culture. Many fans only saw the controversial coach and owner, not knowing how much he contributed to the league elsewhere. He was a rebel in all things, but he was also a visionary. He was also one of the first true defensive geniuses of professional football.
