It looks like Ender's Game will finally have a movie made based on the book! I absolutely loved this book, and hope they can do it justice in movie form. I guess Orson Scott Card will be pretty involved, so that may be a good thing.
Ender's Game was the first series I think I ever seriously read for pleasure. It and it's Shadow series will always have a place in my heart. I also truely hope they can do it justice on film, it's a great story.
Ender Wiggin isn't the only child in the story. I agree with one of the comments that it will be difficult to cast. It's still doable. However, I'm more than bit suspect on the choices of Summit Entertainment whose only true claim to fame is the Twilight series, and Gavin Hood whose only big success as a director is X-men Origins: Wolverine. The last is a good movie, don't get me wrong. But Hood doesn't have a lot under his belt thats on Enders Game level.
I love the entire Wiggin series, and I would hate to see it fall short of its movie potential. But then again there was a certain director who only had 6 films to his resume and only 1 of them a national success when he sold New Line Cinema on the idea of a major book adaptation. And now we have multiple dvd and blu-ray collections of The Lord of the Rings trilogy and Peter Jackson is a household name to every movie goer in America.
If they do not get the right kids, this will suck completely. They will make this something like Starship Troopers III. Most likely.
