My components finally got in, but I have to use a basic linux from the mb cd to get online and get the drivers. It's being picky about recognizing anything. Even with 4 fans on there it's sooooo quiet.
this is going to take a while,
Question, if I put in my video card before power up I get no video. It's like the computer is confused on what to do....however if I put in the card after powerup the setup from gigabyte's disk will not recognize the card. What's up? I'm in process of dl'ing the driver from the gigabyte site in hopes that it will auto install. Any thoughts?
Gilby, pushing a PCI card into the motherboard while the MB is powered up can do damage to both the card and the MB. There is absolutely no plugging/un-plugging anything into the MB while it's powered up. Period.
There are too many unknowns for me to be sure whats happening. Let me start by asking if the MB has a video output of it's own? If so it's likely that you need to go into the BIOS and disable the onboard video in order for the MB to initiate the one in the PCI-E slot.
There is onboard video. I had diasbled it in bios. Even of I do that and hook up the v.c. Then start it up would the vc be able to put out a very basic graphics display until drivers were in stalled?
Absolutely. With no drivers installed the card should still display basic VGA graphics - ala 600x800 @ 65K color (versus 32 million color).
all set dling swtor onto new comp as we speak
Heh, Great, we'll see ya next week! I think that's the biggest thing I've downloaded yet.
nah,Wow is larger overall but yeh it's a large dl. I upgraded my dsl a bit and it's MUCH quicker now.
