Does anyone here ever dabble in intellectual property and merchandise selling? I started a store on cafe press for merchandise to promote my blog. I got the picture I'm starting with from a site that sells these with a licensing fee. I know most of the uploads are probably from people who just downloaded stuff from google searches, I just don't want to run into any possible problems...it's probably just a scare factor and people trying to 'get their cut'. How easily can you download an image off the internet and use it on sold merchandise?

It's very easy to do and 100% illegal unless the image is in public domain.

Downloading does not mean it's public domain. Just means you downloaded it.

Read this for starters: http://www.publicdomainsherpa.com/picture-search.html
