Rogue One

I see why it is PG-13 now. Very good movie

Anybody else watched this movie? I do not want to spoil things for people who have not watched it.

Watched it, thought it was well done.

I enjoyed it - definitely darker than standard franchise products and that's what I like about it. Same thing happened when they did the Batman reboot and took the story out of the kids demographic and made content decidedly more mature. It looks like there is easily room for more of the same which is also good.

Yes I could not take my 8 year old to see that. I think there were 2 parts she could not have handled well.

While it certainly won't be all of them but the anthology Star Wars movies will allow for more mature Storie telling. They won't do Rated R anytime soon. But true PG-13. The Saga movies however will maintain the same feel as the originals. That's the plan going forward according to Lucasfilms.

If you didn't know Lucasfilms plans to make a Saga movie every 2 years thru Episode 9 and an Anthology in between. Thus a Star Wars movie every year. They've also said it's a possibility that they do 2 movies a year sometime in the future.

I loved the new movie also, but I hate they are going to try and make so many so quickly. This will cut out lots of other Sci-fi movies that might would have been made, because they will not go up against Star Wars and the Mouse.

That is not true James. That's not how Hollywood works. It will actually invigorate the Sci-fi Genre which has been lacking the last few years. Theres at least 1 and often 2 or 3 movies that come out every week of the year. Star Wars will only lay claim to 3 or 4 weeks of dominance. Lots of room thru the year for other genre pics.
