We have so many people in this country that truly needs some financial help and then I see things like this. Some goverment paper pusher, is just rubber-stamping applications and not reading them.
It is a plot to destroy fathers and replace them with big daddy government.
It's just sad to see that.
Welfare was just one of our many step in a long line of bad steps towards Socialism . . .
I don't feel that welfare and the other related social services were a bad step. They serve a purpose and fulfill a real need in some cases. I know 1st hand what good these programs do.
The lack of oversight and integrity in these programs are the bad steps that have been taken and are the same bad steps that are continually infesting our government and elsewhere.
Yup, in many cases some one "under the poverty level" here can get so many tax free handouts equalling maybe 50k. Mean while joe sixpack is working for 50k and taxed on that so he takes home 35k or less
Welfare and other assistance programs help many people get back on their feet. They are programs that get abused. Be mad at the abusers first. That post Azir made was about people stealing from those programs, not rage at those programs.
It pisses me off that generation after generation get stuck on this and there are no fathers in the families because you get more money for being single and having kids than being married and have kids on welfare. That needs to change.
I saw a bumper sticker that said " Work hard - millions on welfare depend on you"
The sad joke is not that they depend on it, but that most take it for granted. I haven't seen statistics, but I would hazard a guess that those who deserve the help are likely in the system and out within a year or two (not counting disabled). I'll never understand why we give endless benefits to people perfectly capable of earning for themselves. Oh, that's right, I do understand: buying votes. Nevermind.
